Its now 10 months old, 7000 miles on the clock and already it has guzzled 2 litres of premium grade oil-as 'prescribed' by VW. The oil problem was highlighted by my oil warning light)
Is this right? The technicians claim its a new car and it can be thirsty when 'bedding in'. Really?
Does anyone know of any problems like this with the GT? I had a 1.4 TSi Scirocco before -never had an issue with oil!
Should I book it in to the dealership where I bought it asap?
Also-the second time oil warning light came on-I was on M25 near Heathrow-went to nearest VW garage was charged £19.50 for 1 litre of Castrol Edge Professional Longlife III 5W-30. With it came a jazzy zipped wallet with Velcro fittings, gloves and wipes! Time prior to that, when oil warning light came out and I was in a panic-I bought the same oil-1 litre-at VW garage in Tunbridge Wells-£18.50 but this time it was without the jazzy cover and accessories! Getting wise to this malarkey, so in preparation for next time I will need oil I went to local TPS-and lo and behold-for exactly the same oil-1 litre-£8.95! Sickened!
Any advice always welcome!!
Thank you
