Re: Soon to be R owner with questions!
I have had my R for just over three years now, and do not have a map as yet. I have never been disappointed with the performance, though I will be looking into getting a remap soon. As others have said, enjoy the standard power first and then feel the difference you will spend your money on later...

Well I'm glad for you that you got the refund, and a full one at that. However, there is nothing worse than an 'Area Manager' being a conceited d**k... So much for the customer always being right...?!

Re: 2014 F1 topic
Always look forward to Canada, usually provides a good race!
Predcted weather so far is clear and sunny for qualifying and race. Kind of expecting Hamilton to come back hard after Monaco, he usually goes very well here.
Should be an interesting mid-field race...

Re: The Photography Topic
Well to be honest Skippy, the engine sounds of the Formula Renault and GP2 cars is much louder than F1 now. However, the F1 sound is much more distinctive from the others, and in my opinion, absolutely unique in racing now. Having heard them "live", you get to hear the extra "chirrups...

Re: The Photography Topic
Monaco baby! Sweet :) When I was at Silverstone last year I needed at least 1/600th to get anywhere near a decent hit rate on the F1s (at about 300mm). The speed of the subject and distance from it are big factors. At Prescott where the cars are only doing about 50-60mph I can get down to 1/30th wi...

Re: The Photography Topic
Ok here's a few pics from my recent road trip across Europe! Watched F1 in Monaco (bucket list item checked off!!). Was trying to get a good image of speed, and took some time to get the settings for the shutter speed right. First few pics were at 1/40, eventually working up to 1/250 for the F1 cars...

Re: Anyone used winter SPORT tyres on their scirocco?
Hi mate. Here in Poland we need to have winter tyres. I have a set of Continental Winter Contacts, 235/40 x 18 and they are very very good. As you say, it's not just for snowy/icy conditions. In severe wet weather they are better too and in general cold conditions. However, do not expect them to be ...

Re: Rain sensor standard?
If your car has Xenons then the DRL's are different to the main headlights. If you do not have Xenons, then the main headlights (dipped) ARE the DRL's.

Re: Rocco Dadmobile
A push-chair will fit, I discovered when giving my sister and nephews a lift not so long ago. Obviously a five-door car would be more convenient for getting the younglings in and out of the rear, but then when I was a young-un myself, my father had an Opel Manta! We survived!! LOL

I live in Poland, and a couple of years ago did a road trip from there to Fort William. Really enjoyed it, and on the way back stayed in Amsterdam for a couple of days. This year if my work schedule doesn't change, I'm planning to go south from Poland, through Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and on t...

Re: VW or independent for service?
I have always used the main dealer for my servicing needs, to be honest. The guys at my local VW dealer are always friendly, especially the salesman who I ordered the car through. If he is there when I tale it in, he's always asking questions about the car etc, and always manages to sort me out a de...

Re: 2014 F1 topic
Horner and Newey have returned back to base to start sorting the problems already, so looks like there may be something different for the next test. Williams have been looking very good today, reading some reports. Very sharp turn-in and stable rear end. Let's hope they will be closer to the front t...

At least on looks alone, Marussia have defeated Caterham! We'll see how Ferrari power works for them, because the Renault just isn't at all so far....
