Manual switch off of RCD-510 screen

Post by mastevens90 »

Hi everyone,
I have just taken delivery of my new ROC...for the most part extremely pleased.

Can anyone tell me, is there a way to switch off the screen on the RCS-510 whilst it is still powered up? Not liking the bright light for night time driving.

:welcome:

Glad to see you are enjoying the Scirocco!

I take it that you have tried the five "base" brightness settings hidden in the Setup button menu on which the auto brightness illumination is based?

Just wondering whether the dashboard illumination control wheel has any effect on the radio as well.

Not on mine. Just driven by the light sensor on the dash.

Thanks for all your replies guys. Yeah have obviously experimented with the manual brightness setting...and that does help to some extent...would just be nice if there was a total kill for the screen for night driving that doesnt mean turning the stereo off!
