Removing an interior window sticker

Post by Ryy »

Hello,

So the dealer did the old "sticker in the rear window" logo of their place. Any ideas how I can remove it safely? I don't want to wreck anything, or mark the window.

Any help is appreciated.

It's probably not the best idea to put hot hairdryers to any window that may be frozen at the moment. Sudden changes in termperature may crack the glass.

Yeah I've known for a bit I have to bloody stick with the logo for a while. Likewise having a detail clean done. My car will feel different in March / April. Until then, It's gonna get deep and dirty!

use something like this;

http://miniatures.about.com/od/toolsfor ... rblade.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i sell a similar thing to the professionals.

use at an almost flat angle, then clean the glass with white spirit.

Wouldn't it be more wise to ask the dealer to remove it???? Cos if the HRW goes u/s as some appear to be doing, then warranty issues wouldn't be argued over if any damage is caused to the delicate electrical conductors.

The dealer actually said no to that, and told me to watch it when I remove it. Was gutted and peed. But thought "they don't have to I guess". Considering how peed off I been with them, this is one of the things that didn't bother me much at the time.

In my case, the dealer sticker has been placed resulting in the view through the headrest being obscured. And I asked for factory debadged option !

ChrisL watch it when you remove that as it looks like they have put it over the rear window heater elements (big no no & even mentioned in the manual so shows how little the dealers pay attention :rolleyes: ) if you pop in for anything else I'd tell them to remove it so if it messes up the heating elements you can't be held accountable

Trix, this is totally cheating here, but you don't happen to remember where it states in the manual do you? I am going next week, so would like to try and wam this in their face.

Well, went back to the dealer, some good and bad news. But regarding this windows sticker, they have removed :clap:

Just hope now that when I next use the rear heated window (tomorrow morn more than likely!) It's not damaged!

Pleased to announce my dealer has removed the intrusive advertising sticker and I can now see much better through the rear view mirror.
