The Scirocco is a fast practical road car and the things that make it successful at achieving that are the same things that intrude when used as a track car so no surprises, I drove a Megan Sport the other week that a friend has just got, very fast car, no doubt about it, wouldn't buy one. It was no where near as well made as the Scirocco and the handling felt very "nervous" on real roads, I did actually push it past its limits after been asked to by said friend and while it behaved itself it was not at all pleasant, if I wanted a hot hatch for track days then I would think it was close to ideal but for a daily driver with some twisty road fun at weekends on real roads then the Scirocco wins hands down, I suspect when I get my Scirocco 170 gt I will be faster over a given route than I would be in the Renault.
