Mirror caps

Post by risingblue1 »

Has anyone else noticed that the gloss black mirror caps scratch very easily? Lots of fine scrathes on the drivers one. Maybe they will polish out?

The B Pillars on my MKV R32 were the same you may have problems getting rid some of the deeper ones. but they do polish out...

Yeh I am quite dissapointed I wash it with a sheepkin mitt carefully will just have to remember in future to be very careful. I had a Mini Cooper with a gloss black roof I remember putting the deepest scratch in the roof with a sponge (this was in my ignorant days...) it wasn't good!

Given you say its only the driver's one generally, it's not clothing zips on a jacket or something like that. Or peeps having to get past the car where it's parked???? I'd expect washing to cause problems to both sides.

Tell me about it, I'm starting to get a few swirlmarks already.
I use a microfibre cloth for polishing but maybe I'm pressing too hard or something.
Anybody got any good tips for removing swirls?!
