Spec

What spec has everyone gone for

I went for

Scirocco R in blue or black
DSG
19" wheels
Leather
Sat Nav and dynaudio ( Sat nav is going to be fitted by a place the dealer uses, so I can have universal phone prep to work with my iphone and have the ability to answer from the wheel)
Electrically folding door mirrors
Sunroof
Cruise
Parking sensors
Autoglym
Gap insurance

Very nice spec martin, I'd probably get the same however I'd only get the Blue if its the one shown in the brochures, I don't think I'd get Black as you'd lose the contrast of the Black trim, I also wouldn't get White again for the R version.

I think the R in Silver would look ace, and I'd try to get it with the 19 alloys in Black the ones that are available when spec'ing a Golf R.

Anyways wishful dreaming for me over, you lucky ***** :D

Hey rehmondo

Yes I agree about the black it does not bring out the styling, and my GT was black so its always nice for a change, but im just worried about a few things with the blue, 1. it can look a bit hairdressery, 2. can look a bit boy racer, 3. i dont like the rising blue on the normal roc, actually I like it but not as much as black.

black is also always a safe colour, im struggling alot

Yeah Black would be better over Rising Blue, but the Blue used in the promotion shots isn't Rising Blue and can't be specified in the configurator, if I was in your position I'd ask the dealer more about it and see if they can do something for you.

I spoke to the dealer alot about this, he said the only colour available is the rising blue and they were 99% sure thats the colour in the press shots, its just the photos, that make it look different

In my experience dealers are never 100% sure about anything :D

hmm although he could be right as its been a long time since I saw a Rising Blue in the flesh, but the shots do make it look a bit purple(ish), a bit like the paint job on the R32's.

I'd take that over Black any day of the week! Mind you I'd need to see an R in Black with those banging alloys before placing my order :D

Remember key features that won't stand out as much on a Black R

1. Black trim obviously
2. Mirror caps are Black on the R version regardless of car colour, so this 'R' feature will go unnoticed.
3. The rear exhaust has a Black surround, forgotten what the term is for that area :?
4. Your going for the Pano roof, this usually also sets a nice contrast, something you won't get with Black however it will be unnoticed and when people sit in the car, they will have the wow look on their faces when they think the roof is see through lol

Black will have its merits too, I think the 19" wheels will appear bigger against Black, cleaner/shiner etc
I'm not sure but I reckon if I was driving along and a Black monster with LEDS came racing up behind me, I'd shit myself - so that's another + for Black, it will force people to get out of your way.
LEDs will stand out better on the Black I reckon.

Hmmmm I'm in two minds now and I'm not even buying one lol Its a tough choice your going to have to make, either way I don't think you'd regret it.

Nah man it just wouldn't do it any justice, esp since every 2nd Roc is in Candy White.
