Cleaning - No of hours per week

Post by retsila »

All,

This is a question for the autoperfection guys really, and if they have the time to answer, or create new threads, it'd be really good to get the topics pinned to the top of this forum. I know there's loads of info about different cleaning regimes, and specialist treatments for various problems/scenarios, but not sure i've seen the following.

Essentially what i'd be really interested to see are a few step by step guides on how to best keep your new car looking nice, based upon how many hours per week you can invest.

In my case, except for any treatments i apply upon delivery of the car, and quarterly/annual upkeep, I really cannot spend any longer than 2 hours per week cleaning my car, and then it might slip to not being cleaned for a few weeks at times.

So what i'd like is

a). What sould I do as soon as i get it (This can take more than 2 hours)
b). What would be a good weekly wash routine, that can be completed in 2 hours or less
c). What adhoc upkeep should I go through?

I've had a look around the autoperfection shop, and being a novice, am completely unsure what to buy, so product suggestions for all the above stages would be much appreciated.

Hopefully other newbies would find this useful, and potentially may ask for longer or shorter routine suggestions.

Cheers

Al

Hi Al,

Your timing is perfect! We're just working on some cleaning guides for the various different stages that can be made into stickies at the top of this section so we can incorporate a rough time guide into those as well!

Hopefully in those guides we'll be able to answer all of your questions and of course, we will happily make product recommendations for each stage.

We've already started putting the guides together so it shouldn't be too long before they're ready to be posted... hopefully you're ok to bare with us for a couple of days, in which time we should be able to help you out

Many thanks and kind regards

Taryn and Jim :)

Magic,

This'll be excellent for me being such a noob. Was worried I was being a bit cheeky poiting the question to you guys, but had I not, i would have got a load of varying suggestions, and probably still been none the wiser.

Look forward to seeing the guides.

Al
