Whining noise at 2000 rpm

Currently I have whining noise. I believe this is from oil cooler ( HEL kit). What I am curious is whining noise disappear despite rpm being at constant 2000 rpm. Anyone knows why?

Hi. I had same problem. Thought it was wheel bearing but on vw golf and scirocco chassis its the unusual tread wear that they create called a 'bur'. It sounds exactly like a wheel bearing whine. The only way to cure it is to buy brand new tyres. But as the tyres get older the noise will reappear.
