Hi all
I've just had a new shock absorber fitted by VW. Anyways I've just got home and thought I'd inspect thier handy work and I've found a loose pipe hanging down from the wheel arch. Does anyone have an idea what it's for? My first suspicion was the rear windscreen washer, but tested and that works fine. Also it's not the tube for the drain on the petrol cap area.
So any ideas?

Possibly a petrol tank breather.

That's not a bad call. Would have thought it had some retention clips but can't find any at the moment

Just take it back to VW and give them a bollocking for not doing the job to the required standard.

Re: Loose pipe in wheel arch
it's the drain from the bottom of the filler flap. If you want to do it yourself, drop out the wheel arch liner, then route the pipe back up to the filler flap, there should be a hole to push it through so it sits just slightly recessed directly below the filler neck.
