Loss of power and strange 'cough'

Post by TimsRocco »

2010 Scirocco 1.4 TSi DSG
A couple of days ago I was sat in traffic and hardly moved for about 10 minutes. I don't usually sit that long but I was coming of night duty and a little tired. Every now and then I felt a subtle vibration or shaking sensation. When the road cleared I put my foot down but the revs dropped and there was no power. I lifted up and the revs picked up. The same happened twice more as I crawled along. Then there was a strange 'cough' and all was back to normal. There was no warning lights and there's been no further occurrences.
Has anyone else experienced this? Was it just down to leaving it in drive for too long while stationary?
Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert, but this could be the famous 1.4 tsi issue... fingers crossed it's not but i'd have a search as it usually starts with a misfire
