Window switch/fob issue

Post by Krossfire »

Hi, first time here but after looking on the forums for quite some time, I'm having to ask the question myself.
The problem:
Drivers side window switch has to be held for it to close all the way instead of the normal second click automatic job.
Additional:
-Window will not move to allow to open the door.
-Key fob is able to bring down both windows fully, but only the passenger side will come back up when the fob is held.

Tried:
-Holding the switches up and down for X amount of seconds while the windows fully open/shut (engine on and off)
-Factory reset the settings for windows and locking
-Torn my hair out trying to figure out if the ECM needs to be reset ro the switches need to be swapped out.

There was heavy rain a few days back and a bit of it (not much) got on the inside of the door as I was getting into the car, 2-days has passed and now this.
Unsure if this had anything to do with it but worth a mention.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Try to put in a new switch. They sometimes fail at age and water will do not any good too.

After a bit of thought, it may not even be the switch as the window doesn't move when im opening the door.
I have to pull it through the rubber seals for the door to open, then have to use the button to wind the window down a bit for the door to close again.

It seems to be a sensor or part of an automatic motion that isnt working properly

Ok thats also possible. The switch is in the door handle.
Or your window mechanism could also have a problem.
