Brake pad issue

Post by Scottlowther »

So my rear pads need replacing, so I purchased what was supposed to be the correct pads and set about fitting them lastnight, removes the caliper and noticed the pads were not the same, at all. So I took a picture do the pads and took them back today, to which they couldn't find any pads in stock for a scirocco that were the same as mine, even when searching the part number. I then put "scirocco gt tdi brake pads" into eBay, and the same pads on mine came up, but they were for a mk5 golf gt tdi, just weird how eurocar parts couldn't find the parts. Is this common for VW to use other car parts throughout the range?

ECP are notoriously bad for having the wrong parts against the wrong car.

Yes, parts such as brake parts are shared across the whole VAG family. Scirocco is based on the Golf MK5 platform therefore they share some parts.
