Evening guys,
Looking into buying a 2 year old Scirocco R-Line. Ideally I'm after the 184 variant but I've found one at a local VW dealer that is my perfect spec but its the 150 bhp version.
My question is..... are the actual engines the same? Presumably the 184 is just mapped differently and/or has a bigger turbo? Realistically what am I going to have to spend to boost the 150 version to a similar output?
Cheers
Mike

Bigger turbo, bigger injectors, bigger brakes, different map and a few more differences here and there but minor. Basically, you can do 190bhp from a simple remap. If you like the car, just buy it. I have a 2.0 TDI 140bhp and I'm looking forward to remap it to 180bhp. Cheers mate

Thanks for your reply. Is there any differences in equipment levels? ARe the engines both the same age?

I'm sure the 150PS engine is newer variant which meets Euro6.
