1.4 TSI (160) - Strange Vibrating Noise at 3,000 RPM

Hi Guys,

Just as the title says I'm getting a really strange vibrating noise when I hit 3,000 RPM and it's doing my absolute tits in .. It's been there for a while & I've learned to ignore it but it's started to bother me again so I took a quick video this morning in the hope that someone on here has had something similar!

I've tried to find the source of it through trial & error but no joy at all, can any of you fine chaps help?

Not had anything like this on my Scirocco, but I did have something similar a few years back on a MK3 Golf GTI - it was traced to the manifold end of the exhaust - basically it's encased in a heat shield and it was this which was rattling - sounded similar. However when the car engine was cold the noise was almost silent but it quickly started as the engine (and exhaust) warmed up and was in a similar rev range as yours. It was fixed under warranty at the time.

If the noise is there from cold though it could be something completely unrelated to heat shields.
