Shocks

Post by Lumiya »

I bought some H+R lowering springs for my DSG 61 plate 2.0 tsi Rocco last year and just used them with the standard OEM shocks. I'm getting a issue with noise coming from the rear when i go over bumps or rough road surface. Its like something knocks just the once when proceeding over the initial bump. I think its the rear drop down bar you use to get the rear springs into position, as I've used lowering springs and still remained to used the original shocks i'm wondering whether there is some play in between the drop down bar and the rear shocks.

So i am now looking for some decent shortened shocks to compliment my H+R lowering spring. Would appreciate some feedback guys because i cant seem to find any that fit my car.

Hi i have a similar set up using H&R and also getting a knocking noise from the rear of the car at low speed . Iv had 3 different guys check it out and cant find a logical solution to fix it. If it persists im considering changing back to stock as im worried the long term problems.

Would anyone have any views on this or is lumiya correct in changing to shorter shocks.

@ed21 Do a search on here for the tailgate rattle. That could be the sound you are hearing
I had a constant knocking noise at low speed and over bumps and thats what was causing the problem.

There is a how to guide on here how to fix.Simple Solution.

Best of luck!
