Electric Drivers Seat & Chrome pipe std on GT

Post by Spiney »

Take a look at the standard equipment list on the VW configurator page:

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/#/new/sciro ... r-choices/ (and then press View Standard Specification)

According to this, Electric drivers seat and chrome pipes are now standard equipment on the GT models. Mmmmm hope this is true, mines being built in three weeks!

Interesting! There are chrome tailpipes on the non-GT as well. No mention of it, however, in the price list!

Chrome pipes always were standard on the GT model.

I think its a mistake. It indicated that non-GT models had the chrome tailpipes back in March when I started looking at Rocs and the non-GTs did not have the chrome pipes then.
Could be that its changed with MY2010 - we'll have to wait for the first non-GT MY 2010.

Only the 2.0 TSI has chrome pipes currently. My UK 2.0TDI GT definitely does not, although the brushed stainless look twin pipes on mine is good enough for me (assuming they don't rust over time - they look stainless at the moment!)

Hi Maisbitt,

Thanks for the info, I think that this has only just changed on the configurator though, (at least I don't recall it being there when I spec'd mine about 3 weeks ago). Maybe this is a new change. I agree though that I'm really not bothered about the pipes, leccy seat would be nice to get for free though!

Leccy seat is not something i'd pay for, but i'd willingly take it as a freebie. My mate's Audi A5 electric seats store up to 4 passengers details, so it automatically adjusts when you use your key fob to your settings, saves adjusting it after the missus has been in. Doubt the Scirocco one will have the driver memory though.

You may like to know that I have a V6 Passat at the moment, 11 years old and 130K miles. Still on the original exhaust and stil looks stainless!! Don't suppose it'll look so good after it meets the crusher though.

The website is inconsistent - the configurator says one thing, but the spec comparison doesn't make reference to an electrically adjustable seat being standard, but lists the 12-way one at £235.
Also lists chrome tail pipes as available both Scirocco and GT, no mention of it being 2.0 TSI only as stated in the price list.

I wouldn't rely on the configurator - it would have been happy to let me add auto hold onto a configuration with a DSG box.

What's concerning is there's no mention anywhere of Xenon headlights - hope there's no supply problems again, which could delay my order.
