Recently I was having problems with my scirocco starting, battery sure enough went dead, not turning over at all. Whacked on some jump cables, got it started, cue a beeping sound which does not go off accompanied by the warning light and ABS lights flashing continuously.
After speaking to a few people was told that was probably down to the weakness of the battery and that once a new one went in, it would correct the fault. Sure enough new battery has gone in, but still the problem is there. Have full locked the steering wheel in both directions which won't correct it.
My mechanic has connected up to his laptop and the software programme can't reset the fault as it needs a 16 digit code to sort it out. When the battery died it has somehow wiped the code off meaning I'm driving around with no ABS and a horrendous beeping sound which is torture.
Any ideas with the code pleeeeease? Last resort before I have to book it into VW and be fleeced rotten for something that will take them 5 minutes.

16 digit pincode? Are you sure it isn't the softcoding of the module that has been lost? Maybe you can retrieve it with previous logs. There is also some video material about this on YouTube you can watch. Because the basic settings have to be learned probably.
