1.4 tsi 122vs 160 sound help

Post by Firstcarscirocco »

Hi all,

I have the 1.4 122bhp manual model whilst my friend owns the 160 version with DSG. I have noticed thatine is quite quiet compared to the 160, the 160 has a very noce sound once reveved amd even pops (stationery). Whilst mine dosent 'pop' any reason for this? Thanks

The set up between the 2 cars is quite different. The 160 has both a supercharger and turbocharger whereas the 122 is just a turbocharger. So your comparing apples with oranges.

Hi cuprabob, im aware if this, altoygh I also heard the 160 is a troublesome version, but im talking about a huge diffrence, the 2 compared is like a cat and a lion roaring, the pop on the 160 sounds so good, is the exhaust any diffrent. Also how can I make my 122 pop and sound better?. Also my friend is updating his exhaust, if I fot his on my 122 will it do any help?, if yes what diffrence ? Thanks
