About to purchase a Scirocco, advice welcome!

Post by swooph »

Hi guys, first post here.

So yep, I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these bad boys and my reading so far across the web and on this site has left me a little confused as to which model to buy.

I'm buying used. Economy is important to me (so I guess I'm looking at the diesels), as is equipment.

Engine wise, I can see there's a 140 and a 170 (with a bluemotion available in the 140), is that correct? Can anyone advise there? I'm assume a fair bit more economy in the 140 but am I losing a large chunk of performance for it?

Equipment wise I'm very confused about what comes as standard in the models out there. I'd love sat nav, SD card, mp3, sensors, cruise, and all that good stuff if possible. Trim wise - am I right in saying the GT pack includes some extras but no difference engine wise?

I bow to your vast knowledge guys. Any help here greatly appreciated.

R line tdi spec is good one to go for. Well specced. They have nav leather as standard plus r line trim.

Thank you. Anyone else?

What does the GT give me trim wise vs the R?
Anyone advise for or against the BlueMotion?
Which model comes with the most tech?

Thanks again guys.
