Glutch stuck to the floor

Post by Shubrook »

I have a 2012 1.4 tdi bluemotion, on my way home from work yesterday my clutch felt a lot lighter to press then when I changed down gear to stop on traffic the glutch would not come back up. I had to call green flag to recover the car. I'm not sure if the clutch has gone or if it's just a loose bearing. The car still starts and which scirocco owners will know is that it only starts when the clutch is pressed. Any body experienced this themselves? Or if anyone had a new clutch put it how much did it cost?

Kind regards

This is normally a sign that either the clutch master or slave cylinder has failed.

Master no but if it's the slave, yes as the gearbox needs to come out.

First thing I would suggest is get a brake fluid changed and the system bled to see if that helps. Brakes and clutch share the same fluid system.
