Hi guys,
After something that happened last Friday I am looking to put a tracker on my scirocco. Does anyone have any recomendations? Something that is accurate and reliable!
Does anyone else have one fitted?
Thanks

Re: Best tracker for a scirocco
I have a cheap gps tracking device I bought off eBay. Just type in gps tracker. Mine I need to top up SIM card with £10 every 90 days but £40 a year isn't too bad I don't think, I've hidden mine in the spare wheel well and can track from phone or computer to within 3m so pretty accurate. Think my gps device was about £30 there's loads out there on eBay just see what will be best for you - some are even cheaper. - what happened to prompt that then? I work in insurance so all about reducing risk. Happy searching

Never thought of that, the only thing that worries me is gps blockers, do all trackers use gps?greg7728 wrote:I have a cheap gps tracking device I bought off eBay. Just type in gps tracker. Ah i parked somewhere in birmingham and came back to 3 nice looking guys around my car, it was only my car in the carpark, and they started asking questions abd acting very shifty, luckily i wasnt on my own, acted stupid and made my car to be of a lot less value then it is. They walked far enough away (stood by there car) so we got in mine and went!
But when they start asking if its a genuine R, whats it worth etc it immediately rings alarm bells. And today i came back to my car again in a car park, 2 guys ware sat next to it in a bmw, soon as i got in they drove off. Conincedence maybe, but ive spent almost 20k on my car, i do not want it going missing!

Re: Best tracker for a scirocco
The only tracker that isn't just GPS is cat5 adr tracker.. Has driver recognition (by separate unit) so even if someone steals your keys they can't take the car. Plus u can remotely cut ignition, lock and set alarms off etc and police automatically alerted if car moved without ur transponder being present, I'd get on eBay and look there are there are plenty of options, for added peace of mind. If u want to do cat5 it's usually about 600 install and about 150 a year subscription so not cheap. It's worth having one though, GPS blocker is usually in the cab (where tracker usually fitted) doubt it would reach the boot and spare wheel well therefore ur signal remains uninterrupted. All that said though, if someone really wants to steal ur car they're going to, all u can do is make it harder for them and easier for u to find it if they do, the spate of 100k range rovers and decent audis going missing recently is testament to that. Happy searching!

My GPS tracking device is LandAirSea 54, using 4G LTE cellular real-time tracking. It is not a tracker that can be connected to a car battery and needs to be replaced regularly. The advantage is that you can place it in any magnetic position, waterproof and shockproof.Gazzagood wrote:Hi guys,
