EPC light on/off (with spoardic emissions control light)

Hi guys,

Have monitored a few threads here but think my situation is a little different hence new thread. I've had an issue with my EPC light coming on and off for a while now (a few months) and only getting round to sorting it now. My scirocco is a 2.0 tsi from late '08. I had a problem with this around about a year and a half ago and took it to VW and they were able to put it down to a faulty wire and simply replaced it.

The light has since came on again and when it does, it limits my revs to about 3k rpm, so the car is driveable but its frustrating. It's very sporadic and would come every couple of weeks then disappear again. When I turn the car off, the light disappears. Recently however it seems to come on again every 10 or so miles. On a few occassions the Emissions control lamp has also came on, but has since gone away.

Going to book the car in for a diagnosis with VW to start the wheels in motion to get it fixed. Has anyone got any ideas what I might be in for so as I'm not going in completely blind? Any advice greatly appreciated.

EPC is Electronic Pedal Control so that points to either the connections to either the throttle body or the throttle pedal and possibly the potentiometer in the throttle pedal.

A snan will reveal the fault codes which should narrow it down.
