Rear Parking Sensor help needed.

Post by ciaranm »

Hi guys,

I am hoping someone can shed some light or offer some advice.
I boought my 2010 Scirocco 2.0 TSi GT on Monday, drove it from London, to Cairnryan the same day and got the 11.30 Stenaline back to Belfast. After the long drive, the car was in dire need of a wash, so yesterday afternoon I took it to the local Romanian car wash. When I got home, and was reversing into my drive, my parking sensors were just beeping continuously as if I was about to hit something. I assumed there was a leaf or piece of dirt covering one of the sensors, however when I got out to check, I noticed one of the sensors was gone! All that was left was a hole in the bumper where it once was. My best guess is that the car wash has power hosed it too closely and it has either fallen inside or broken off completely and fell off.
Does anyone know what is my best option to fix this? I cant see if the sensor has fallen inside so not sure what to do.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

might be a bumper off job to do a bit of investigation - i would agree it is probably inside. Parking sensors and power washers dont mix sadly

I feared it may be a bumper off job. Is the bumper easy enough to remove?
