Last few days when starting off from parked I have released the handbrake fully and go to drive.
The car is stuck down then releases with a noise from the rear axle.
I washed the car recently and there is obv lots of salt on the road now but nothing else new.
Is it normal within limits or should I get it checked under warranty?

It's perfectly normal in damp conditions especially if the car has been sitting a few days.

I would have it checked mine was doing the same thing and it ended up being a rusty handbrake cable.

Re: handbrake sticking when moving off?
Cuprabob is right, perfectly normal although a little bit annoying. Some people leave their handbrake off during these conditions leaving their car in gear (on level ground), I'm not a fan of this incase you forget to press clutch or/and put in neutral before starting.
If you take your car out for a 5 mins drive straight after washing, this tends to dry and clean up pads and disk before you park it for the night. I find this stops the issue most of the time.

My Scirocco won't start unless you depress the clutch even if it's in neutral.☺sciroccorich wrote: I'm not a fan of this incase you forget to press clutch or/and put in neutral before starting..
