Electric windows

Post by SMSCIROCCOTSIGT »

When getting in my car the windows work fine, they drop to let the door open then close again when the doors shut but when I turn the key to start the windows go nuts dropping and closing about 3 times and it's starting to annoy me any ideas to what it could be would be greatly appreciated

It could be a faulty ignition switch. It was a common issue on the early cars. It also sometimes happens if the steering lock is on and you don't turn the steering wheel a little to disengage it when you turn the key.

Agree with the above - Cuprabob is def right; I had the same problem on my GT. Ignition switch - warranty covered it. Just make sure they order the right replacement part as you can't retrofit the old one once it's removed I was told by the dealers (after they ordered the wrong one for mine).
