Hi,
I recently got an engine check light up on the dash of my 2009 1.4 tsi scirocco, when i ran a diagnostics on it it came up P044 purge system fault. Have any of you come across this problem before? Any suggestions?

Never seen it. Why don't you take it in as it might be serious? Or email the RossTech support to see if they know what it means. Better still, the code might be in their fault code wiki

I have just googled it, seems to related to emission control systems. Would appear to be more of a generic code used by other maunfacturers as well. I think the dealer needs to see it, or a VW specialist.

Thans for the reply, i have a broad idea of the purge system but not sure which components are most prone to failing, might bring it up to the VW garage and let them have a look at it
