Hey guys,
Once again my car, i have a couple of questions this is less about the small fixes i need to do more about the rights as a consumer i have with the deal i bought it from. My car has gone away and i get it back late Friday night, They're doing all the fixes its supposed to need and its MOT.
I've had constant problems that have not stopped with it and a lot of them have been the same issues. Car has been taken in and out of this place over the last 6 months. If i get a list as long as my arm on the MOT what do i do / say, it shouldn't have anything wrong with it, i can accept the tire that may or may not need changing, and bulbs and wiper blades etc... stuff that's not mechanical.
So back to my question, what rights do i have? i know a little about, like been sold a lemon and the car been fit for purpose, which it hasn't at the moment.
Any advice will be great advice.
Thanks Mike.

I think you are going to be very close to or beyond the point that you could reject the car (you got the car in may approx looking at your posts?) as the supply of goods and services has a limit of 6 months on it for rejection
http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm scratching my head a little on it to be honest as to why you have continued to let it go on this far with everything you've had & not investigated your rights before now
Have a read of the above link & do some serious googling around the subject, if you want to try to push for rejection then you really need some professional advise, especially as you are close to that 6 month line & how this outfit have treated you thus far to not give them any avenue to get out of.
Best of luck
edit: be prepared, if you are successful you will take a hit due to usage you have had and depreciation during that time.

Re: My scirocco
I'm not that bother on getting a rejection, i love the car " when it works"
Thing is its a local dealership, shop not willing to slag them off, i think its just more the point that I've been filled with false promises, lucky I've kept all the emails that have gone back a forth between the dealership, i took my dad along with me to discuses the terms of getting the car and what we expect so i have to on my side.
One of my customers is a law firm and are always willing to help for some special I.T help ^_^.
I've looked around the internet a little and i have seen some stuff about been sold a "lemon", all info about fit for use etc...
I'm just going to see what turns out on Friday, i'll have owned the car 6 months on sat, so i'll kick off like crazy if they start adding the costs.
Thanks Mike

You haven't said what's wrong with your car. Past 6 months I don't think the law is closed on getting a rejection but you have to prove the problems were there when you bought the car, whereas before that onus is on the dealer. If you don't want to reject the car you have to really know what you want before getting heavy with them. Maybe an upgraded warranty etc

Re: My scirocco
Okay! more info guys!
So, i took it back to the dealer on which i bought the car they took it for 3 days and have done some work to it, they have sent it next door to a really cool exhaust garage and got it sorted by them i have all the details from that garage.
So the airbag... wow.... the airbag... okay so they took it in replaced all the wiring all the looms and everything under the passenger seat. Sooooo i got it back on Friday, was soo excited like picking it up once again, but then as soon as i got it some disappointment... the light came back with vengeance, so i called them as it was shut by the time i got back left a message, got up there the next day to collect my Wheel caps, they don't do any services on a Saturday so i had no one to talk too about the situation so they told me to bring it back Today.
So on the way to the garage today i heard an extremely loud noise coming from the dash and like made me go deff in my left ear, think i came to the conclusion quickly that it was the airbag going off, but it didn't deploy which again, slightly worried about as what if i had a crash?? Soo where do i go know? they have the car, but i'm not too comfortable driving it anymore.
So they're trying to find me an Audi A5 S line coupe for swops on mine but i don't really want one "even though i kinda said i did" tomorrow i'm going to call and request that i get a scirocco R or the same car with more stuff on it and newer for my car?
Am i asking to much ? am i in the wrong? anyone got anything i can kinda hit them with? i pay for the car each month without fault never missed a payment or anything like that, i have informed them of everything that has gone wrong with plenty of time to fix it.
Anything will help Thanks Mike.

Nosvartu.
Sounds like a nightmare situation, but as RocMan said, you seem to be in a position where you will need to be able to prove that the car was sold to you in this poor state....and I know this may seem harsh, but you've not done yourself any favours by letting things get this far before looking into where you stand as a customer, considering the numerous issues that you say you've had since you bought the car six months ago.
Again, as Trix suggested, you may want to consider professional advice. I also wouldn't even consider agreeing to taking another car from them, at the very least until you know where you stand with the current one, from both a mechanical and legal point of view.
Hope you get this resolved. Good luck!

Re: My scirocco
I know i should have actioned this quicker but before now it just seemed like small things that have now exsculated into a big ass mess.
I've already been told by the company that they are going to look after me etc... They could be feeding me bollocks but i hope they are truthful i'm going to speak to one of my clients tomorrow and see what she thinks.

Re: My scirocco
if you've got a finance agreement you need to involve the finance company in any discussions as its technically their car until you have paid them for it, they may have more clout in rejecting it/refusing return but you have to give them all the details.
you may not want to reject the car but there will always be a better example out there than the one that you appear to have ended up with.
