350z to scirocco

Post by formatzero »

Hi guys, new to the forum, selling my 350z as i need to have back seats to take my grandaughter around and was thinking of the scirroco.I have read the buying guide and to be honest was surprised to see so many things to look out for.Just wondered how often these occur, such as problem with 2nd gear on the manual, squeaky trim fit, turbo rattle, coil packs etc, also how reliable is the d.s.g any advice appreciated, cheers

As with any car, you will only hear the bad stories.

I did the same. Miss the ride and brute power of the zed, the roc doesn't come close (although should imagine the 2.0 litre would be better). As for problems I've had a few niggles - trim and odd noises mainly and never had any problems with the zed other than the cd player packing in.
Hoping my change will be justified when the ice and snow comes!

The 2.0TSI with remap alone is a bit of a beast, plenty of wheel spin if you try to force it down. It's over 400nm of torque and as my stock map is on, I can say I miss it already, but I may be leaving it off for the winter as the traction in 2nd is a lot better.

I tested a 350Z, glad I had the Rocco. Lovely cars. Look after it and it will you.

As mentioned above you will only hear bad stories. I have never heard of issues with either 2nd gear or coil packs for example, must be very rare indeed.
