VW OEM Bluetooth installation help

Post by dimexi »

Hi guys,
Sorry, I have asked some of these questions in another thread - but I figure people are more likely to answer under a new thread.

Firstly, I am almost done with my installation of the VW OEM bluetooth which I bought from carsystems.pl.
It came with the mic and harness for the RCD/RNS.

I have had a few problems that I am hoping some of you can advice me on how to solve
1) I haven't connected up the bluetooth unit because the mic isn't active, however, I have removed the original VW harness, and replaced it with the one that came with the bluetooth unit.
The interfaces seem ok - however when I plug in my iPhone via the MDI, only the driver side speaker works.
Also, I get that annoying "interference" that you get on speakers when you are trying to make a call. It has never happened before till I put in the carsystems harness.

2) Has anyone Routed the Mic from the roof and down the A Pillar? I have the mic installed in the map lighting area and have fed the cable up to the sun visor. I had the A Pillar half off, but I notice there is some "padding" behind the seal area, I didnt know what this padding was, so I didnt move it.
My next move was to try and remove the "Jesus" handles. I opened up the flap, but found no screw :(. Can these be taken off?

This is all I can remember for now. Hope to get help from someone!

Thanks
