longlife servicing

Post by robinalex »

Getting a bit worried about when my Scirocco next needs a service. If I hold the trip button it is telling me that the next service is due in 5900 miles or 258 days. I have only had it a few months and it has now done 42745 miles and the last service was done at 30068 miles on 07/03/12. So that will be approx. 18.5k between services or two years, is that right for longlife?

Don't want to spend money unnecessarily but would you guys be considering getting a service done before its due? It will take me the 258 days to do 5900 miles as don't go far.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

That's correct the maximum duration is 18,600 miles (30,000km) or 24 months for longlife servicing. It is reduced though if you drive the car hard or do a lot of short journeys.

My preference is for Time & Distance regime with services every 9,300 miles (15,000km) or 12 months.
