New extras and accessories info

Post by paulmaddocks »

Morning all,

Interesting posts on the 'News' forum about the new dealer fit accessories that are now availible in the revised pricelists. Wondering what everyone who has already ordered will be adding now that these are out.

Personally I am interesting in the door sill trims (premium) and the load liner (little annoyed as the demo car I saw had the load liner in already and was never really mentioned that it wasn't the 'standard' boot lining. Still, its only £50!). These will go with the mats I am already getting for free :)

What I really want to see are any pictures of the premium door sill trims, will the be stainless with 'Scirocco' etched in them (like some of the Passat ones I have seen online)?

What else are people considering? Any pictures that can help us all out? I asked the dealer by they have no pictures availible on thier ordering sites.

Hantsman, do you mean that you have specified that they be fitted to your car on delivery, or that you have already fitted them and can confirm we have the correct part no. and they fit without any problems ?

my german is not the best but appears there may be other bits and pieces in the pipeline for the uk:

on the subject of pedals they show a prefix of 1K106 (DE) rather than 1K206 (UK) may be difference for LH and RH drive markets:

looks like roof racks are available (may get one for my mother and future mother in law) and bike racks, not sure the trye covers are heated so you can get them up to temperature for first thing in the morning

The dealer fitted the pedal kit before I picked it up. Getting them todo it also covers them under warranty. You can get them and fit yourself but it's only £9 cheaper and dealer didn't charge for fitting.

The pedal kit is a standard VW part used on a number of models. The dealer gave me the box with the old pedals. Fitting shows they work on GOLF 2005+, Jetta 2005+ and Passat 2006+. They also say a dealer should install as the accelerator pedal needs completely replacing (Depends on your skill level)

I think bumper protection film is going to be a must have due to the high load lip of the boot. There is some mention of it on the German site . Just have to wait and see prices etc when VWUK pull there fingers out regarding all accessories available.
With regards to the door sill trims, what is there as standard? Plastic trim bits or just paint.

My view on the door sills is that they look cheap, stick-on and a little high/raised.
Each to his own.

the sills are just painted as standard with no protection, i too thought they looked too stick on till i went and had a look at mine on my audi which looked similar and covered the same area, experience from having a 3 door with buggish doors was sills got punished when trying to get in and out in confined spaces
