New gauge / suggestions ?

Hi, got a steering column pod holder for my Roc, already have a volt meter and boost gauge, wanted to install another but local auto electrician has put me of having an oil pressure gauge installed as he says its a nightmare of a job which he wouldn't undertake / anyone got any suggestions ? don't fancy putting an analogue clock which he suggested. !
Is it such a big job ?
