Option for auto dip passenger mirror?

Post by Pheo »

Hey all, I'm missing my owners manual at the moment - can anyone tell me which option controls the auto dip on the passenger mirror, as it doesn't seem to be on, working at the moment

I presume for reversing?

In which case, put the ignition on, select the driver's mirror control to passenger side, select reverse gear. The mirror control has to be in this selection position for it to work.

If it doesn't dip down, then use the mirror control to adjust while reverse gear is still selected.

When you drive off at about 12mph, the autolock for the doors will be set and at the same time the left mirror will move to the driving position automatically. As long as the mirror control is set to the passenger adjustment position, the left mirror will auto-dip when reverse gear is selected and return to normal driving position once you drive forward above 12 mph.

(NB: Reversing - Passenger Mirror down. Needs electric folding mirrors)

Aha

So I think it wasn't always working as I didn't always have it in passenger side selection! And it wasn't going back because you have to get over 12 MPH.

Awesome so that is working then, I suspect. Will confirm tomorrow. Thanks guys!

Did notice it corrects/returns when you turn it off and remove the key.

Now if only I could make the mirrors fold on locking! But from reading on here that's not possible with a 04/2009 car :(
