New Climate Control coming to Scirocco ?

Post by Sootchucker »

Just had an email from Auto express with amongst other items a preliminary review of the new VW Golf GTI soft top. One thing that caught my eye was a photo of the interior showed a new set of climate controls (see photo below). These appear to be the same as appearing in the new Passat and CC

As the MK6 Golf and Rocco share very similar DNA, I was wondering if this was going to come to the Rocco soon. I've always prefered the previous versions of the climate control as I had in my MK5 Golf, with little digital readouts of each sides temperature, rather than surrounding the 2 temp rings as they currently are, which I find quite difficult to read at times.

Maybe this can be retro fitted once a fascia plate becomes available (assuming the current one doesn't fit) ?

I would think the next Scirocco will have the same instruments, air conditioning controls etc as the Golf VII which I am told is being launched this autumn. Whether VW will bother to change the aircon controls on the current Scirocco is another matter.
