Well, the car was in to VW the other week for a service. Today I noticed a rather nasty looking yellow substance around the door & boot hinges. Can't say I spotted it before but then again I've not really looked.
Anyway, I've cleaned all the mess off with the help of a small paint brush & some APC. Can anyone recommend a decent lube for the hinges which will do the job but be less conspicuous?
From the looks of it, they've put on G 000 150 grease which the official VW grease for the hinges on the Scirocco. The equivalent needs to be waterproof, so bearing grease like Castrol LM grease is not suitable.
