Are you sure its the switch.
at the bottom of boot lid there 2 black bump stops one or both are pneumatic. one of mine failed so when i pressed the button it unlocked but didnt have enough pressure in the bump stop to push it free of the lock. if you stand by the boot and grab it as soon as you press the button you can open it. I could be wrong but sounds they same as my problem.
If you see S9 CTC driving around give us a wave I do 40,000 miles a year it gets lonely out there

With the boot open you should still be able to hear the switch mechanism releasing in the boot when the door switch is pulled. If not then its not the switch release mechanism as you say that works with the remote so it would suggest a faulty switch or more likely a loose connection. However that might mean taking the door card off to get to it :(
Anyone know if the boot switch can be just popped out from its seating ?

Thanks for replys.
Tried to pop out Switch from seating(witchout Breaking it)
Gave up as i didnt want to break it.
Brough it to the dealer and they confirmed FAULTY Switch. They did tighten up all connections first to see if that was the Problem.
Seems the switch is quite weak. Hopefully the part arrives shortly.
Ill update when its Fixed. Fingers crossed.
