Re: Remap
Hi Allan
I have also been looking in to a remap for my tdi 170, I was considering DMS automotive or Shark Performance (hence my profile text), however, after a little research I have decided to go for a tuning box by TDI-tuning (there is a link to their site on the forum), it provides the same gains in bhp & torque figures (205 bhp & 300 + lbft), but the advantage being it can be easily removed should your car need to go in for warranty work, sounds like a better option to me.
Regards
Martyn

Re: Remap
Sorry for the late reply - only recently joined. The issue with most tuning box gizmos is that they basically mess with one or more settings to fool the car's ECU, ( eg altering the temp to cause more fuel to be injected ) whereas a remap optimises all of the settings. I tried a box on my golf and, although I got a noticeable performance improvement the computer settings were all over the place (eg. 200 mpg!). I went for a celtic tuning remap and have been totally satisfied.
