Has anyone got a stone chip on their windscreen repaired?
One of our cars got a chip probably no bigger than 7-8mm & its been like that approx 18mths, not got any bigger etc. Just that you see on telly where they advice people to get it repaired as its likely to get worse. Is this true? or a myth. I know you can get it repaired through the insurers for free with your policy but i am just curious about an answer to my question putting aside the insurance claim.

Re: Stone Chip
Is it a chip or are there any stars coming of it ?, if theres a star effect coming from the centre Just get it repaired, its free and doesn't affect your insurance, that said you have left it a while and might not be ideal to do now, if its just a small hole then it might be ok to leave.

Re: Stone Chip
Will have to give it a close inspection to ascertain what sort of a chip it is?

Re: Stone Chip
Shaun, finally got round to checking this chip, from the outside of the car it looks like a round hole, when you get inside the car it looks star shaped.
So might be wise to get it repaired
