Oil Light Flashing - Please Help

Post by 00HVB »

I did a 200 mile round trip to London today. I was doing about 75 MPH on the M1 and had the cruise control on.
When i used the toggle on the end of the indicator stalk to speed up the Engine Oil warning lamp blinked for a few seconds.
It didn't stay on and once i released the button it stopped flashing.
It didn't flash again for the whole trip unless i used the toggle switch.

I did check the oil level before the journey and it was bang in the middle of the dipstick.

Im slightly worried, any ideas guys?..

Thanks

I think you have an electrical fault rather than an engine oil pressure problem.

Surely the Scirocco is still in its 3 year warranty???? No brainer to take it to the dealers and let them sort it. Warranty should cover it, but ask before you let them loose on it so you know whether if it will be charged of not.

Week 43 Build has happened on time! 22 Oct'09 Scirocco is at Check Point 5 in the factory

Thanks C.

Warranty runs out in march, may just give them a call see what they say.

Strange, as i regularly use Cruise Control and this is the 1st time this has happened.
