SatNav DVD

Post by Gyroscan »

Hi, does anyone know if we should receive the Map DVD for with my wifes car when we pick it up or am I stuck with whats on the hard drive, I will be getting the 510 Satnav, its just when I picked up my CC 18 months back after a bit of persuasion the sales guy let me have the one that came with my car. I could do with the newer maps on my CC ?, originally they said I would but since then they have told me VW no longer supply the Map disks with a new car?
Regards :?

I dont think you get a disc anymore probably to stop you updating your CC'S Satnav for free ;-)

Hi, yes you may be right!, but as the whole VW sales dept was doing the same thing, it may have been more than just me taking advantage
Ah well, lets see what e-bay has to offer!

Yes - it is a ridiculous price. I am not going to bother to update mine (mine is v4 2009), I think the latest is 7.2 with 7 digit postcode functionality but it does need to be on a certain rev. of firmware to insure that works. Again VW can tell you what version of firmware the unit is running at a cost of £51! And that is just to tell you!

Not that I have got it, but I think this is where this VAGCOM s/w comes into its own!

Just picked our new Scirocco this morning and can confirm it now has the 7 digit postcode satnav, also a nice touch is that the Iphone 4 is Bluetoothed in such a way as you can play you MP3's directly off it (not sure if this was a feature on the earlier release), what a really nice car such a joy to drive, pity its the wifes!, only downside is no bonnet hydrolic strut, no auto boot opener, it just clicks open, but those are the only missing things I would have paid extra for, superb car! :vibes:
