Bootiful

Post by moonlight »

Morning people,

I'm a week into my ownership and still smiling....a shame I have only tootled to and from work in it but hey! Though I have a 7 hour journey to Scotland next month which I am now looking forward to (wasnt prior to the cars arrival)

How dissapointing is this: had a family bbq on Saturday.....no-one had seen my car before....my whole family commented on my partners yellow smart car....I stood there.."hellooooo....new scirrocoooo" tut!

This I'm sure is a really simple question but it may save me head scatching when I get back home tonight.

My boot doesnt open from the fob.(but it did last week!)..it does open from the switch inside the cabin...any ideas? ALSO whilst I'm at it...is there any way that the passengers door can be unlocked with the fob at the same time as the drivers? (this pressing the button god knows how many times is annoying - just like my previous A3)

Many thanks in advance :)

For the boot open are you holding the button down for long enough? You've got to keep it down longer than you would to open the doors, I normally keep it pressed down until I hear the boot pop.

From memory you can choose whether the drivers door or both doors open by using the MFD and there's an option in there, the exact details should be in the handbook.

Do you have Higlhine ?, for the drivers door opening with the passengers you can change it on the Highline under convenience IIRC, as for the boot i am not sure, are you definately pressing and holding (for a few seconds) the boot opener button on the key ?

lol...I thought I was pressing the button longer than normal...I better have a look at lunch-time! (doh!) Yes I do have a convenience option ...spent more time last week trying to change the digital speedo from kph - mph only to find out it can't be changed!

Thanks....I'll check it out

You have a GT, so you have highline computer - you can do a few changes in there, including the opening of both doors, but those settings only work on each key you made the changes for, so you need to do it for both keys if you use them both regularly - the Roc can tell your 2 keys apart and the preferences you made in highline are assigned to whatever key you made them in.

I prefer the drivers door Only option for safety reasons. Don't want anyone jumping in the passenger side when I'm

Thanks...off to look right now....yeah I understand what you mean re the drivers door only ...however... I keep getting tutted at for not letting her in....by the time I've remembered she's still stood outside I'm in putting my belt on! Though dont the doors lock over 5-10mph anyway??

I'm still not convinced that the owners manual is that clear tbh....probably just me.

All u have to do is press the unlock button on fob twice to unlock passenger side too instead of once for drivers side. It's not that much of an effort but appreciate one can forget!
