Must be a Barnsley Thing!

Post by lancs_lad »

I've had my Roc since March 2010 and not having access to Vagcom left the DRL's activated. never had a problem until twice this week while travelling in the deepest darkest depths of Wombwell (near Barnsley) on different days oncoming vehicles flashing me and 2 geriatric male drivers pointing and gesticulating at my headlights  I can only assume that either they've never seen DRL's before or they've never seen a Scirocc before and were just happy to see me.

I get this all the time with my Volvo V50, oddly it is the older driver that flashes and points at my headlights. No doubt it will continue when I eventually get my Roc with the headlights as the DLR.

About 5 years ago i was driving just outside of Buxton on a country lane with no path when an old guy put his hand on the top of his head and jumped onto the grass verge and crouched down pointing at me perhaps he'd never seen a car before and was worried i'd come to steal his soul or perhaps just a weirdo :eyepop:

It stretches from Barnsley thro' Chesterfield to Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith. And its not just Sciroccos. Had it on Thursday in my Corrado. Spoils the drive out. Honking the horn and flashing lights at me. And I ain't got any DRLs on that car!

They seem to have a bean about any fast sports coupe!

Bless the little old darlings. :devil

It stretches further than that, I was in Newcastle last week and a pedestrian shouted and told me I had my lights on.

Glad it's not just me then. It was just a bit strange it hadn't happened before and then twice in the same neck of the woods :)
