Scirocco Drifting to the left.

Post by beyonder27 »

Hey all. I'd love a bit of advice.....I have a wonderful candy white scirocco all the extras minus closing mirrors ! Its the best car I've ever owned, driven lots of them. Rocs ride steering is almost telepathic... A few weeks back I was driving around a country road and went down a bad pothole quite fast. I buggered my left tyre and more importantly cracked my 19 inch alloy wheel. tried various repair shops but they all couldnt fix the warped cracked alloy.......

I had already done 14,000 miles in the 5 months i got this baby....The front pirellis were almost gone....I went to the local V dub dealer in carlisle....and coughed up £1200 for the alloy and 2 new pirellis....ouch...They did a wheel alignment aswell!

I have noticed that the steering wheel is verrrryyy slightly off centre, facing left and this causes the car drifting off centre ever so slightly on a motorway trip..small detail but very annoying.....Is there anything I can do? I hope this doesn't mean there is something more serious going on.....

Hope to hear a solution to this.... :eyepop:

Sounds like you need to get them to re-check the wheel alignment/tracking. Also worth checking the tyre pressures in case one side is a bit under inflated.
