Thanks for all the input!
I am not the one saying it is "heatsoak" it is the Revo guy who tuned my car!
I was just wondering if it really is, what I can do about it and if it is harmfull to the engine?

Since I have a hard time getting in touch with the Revo guy, I turned to the forum to get help!

Revo is not present in Sweden therfore I turned to this Delaer in denmark. I should never had done that! But how could I have known?

That is why I am worrying!

hoganb even i'm starting to worry because you are worried

there is plenty of explanation and advice in this thread on about how it happens and how you can avoid it, including advice from a UK based Revo dealer

unfortuantely we are not aware of the context in which your danish dealer has made reference to heatsoak, one would assume he is saying you may get a performance drop off in hot weather (refer to my revo carl quote) as you do with all turbo cars be it mapped or not

i have never worried about heat soak as i try to let the car cool down, especlaiiy on more focused events like 1/4 mile and track and give the car a rest, in reality the likes of a bigger intercooler do not overcome the issue but hold it at bay for longer (play harder longer)

in reality whatever your cars hardware the best advice is to use common sense as a driver

as long as I know the engine is ok I can live with it. But had I known this prior to the remap I would neved had done it. Just a waste of Dineros! :)

your car would have experienced heatsoak before the map hoganb, you may get slightly more running more boost with modest gains of 25% over stock and your power output is similar to a stock 2.0tsi, its like saying if i knew my stock car was going to suffer from heatsoak i wouldn't have bought one, the fact someone mentions it means its now an issue.

never been worried by it on mine, if i want to play harder for longer in the summer sun i'll stick a twin cooler on it

It's a freezing cold stuff that gets sprayed onto the intercooler to cool the air before it goes in the engine.

Bye bye heatsoak !!!! :D

so you are saying you are experiencing power loss post remap? when is the occuring in terms of revs and speed and gear? was the heatsoak mentioned by the revo dealer on the phone or did you take the car to him and that is what he diagnosed?

Reading through this thread it seems that heatsoak has pretty much been covered.

There's not much I can add to the thread other than never try to guess what the cause of your symptom is. If you think there's a problem with your car then you need to have the car assessed by someone who knows what they're looking at so they can tell you whether or not there is an issue that needs rectifying or not. Any forum is a great place to chat about cars and throw ideas around, but no one on here has seen or driven this car so can't confirm whether what you're feeling is heatsoak or not.
