I use a metal polish from Halfords comes in a bronze coloured tube, brings them up great

Another + for Autosol, use with a very fine wire wool to remove stubborn dirt.

Meguiars Polysh (sic) worked a treat on my MINI's pipes.

Most people have an old bottle of T-Cut sitting in the garage gathering dust and this works just fine on exhaust tips, and saves you going out and buying something else. Just don't use it on the paint!

Autosol here too, if its bad some 00 grade wire wool will help :-)
