What happens if
The battery in the scirocco get that low (or another fault that prevents the windows coming down) that when you try to open the door the window doesn't drop, how on earth do you get in the car ?, PS this is purely a hypothetical question its not happened to me, just wondered if its happened to you or if you knew.

Re: What happens if
If the battery "fails", use the manual lock under the cover in the Driver's handle. The handbook warns to be careful because the window hasn't dropped. Possible damage to paintwork?, glass & seals.

Re: What happens if
Yeh i know about the key but that wouldn't drop the glass would it if the power had failed ?

Re: What happens if
I presume you're allowed to "pull" the door open with the window flexing enough to pop out of the top bit. But will it break i don't know.
then you can begin to call AA/RAC, open bonnet, charge/replace battery and be a happy bunny again.

Thats the point what the manual says. Be careful pulling the door open. It tells you to do it with the window fully up.182_blue wrote:Yeh i know about the key but that wouldn't drop the glass would it if the power had failed ?
I've done it with the window not dropping in cold weather and "helped" the window out of the upper seal.

It does come out, even in a cold stiff seal at -15'C, you just do not yank it!

Re: What happens if
What got me thinking is whilst doing my folding mirrors I drained my battery LOL, well a combination of that and the car not having moved for a few weeks and me being in and out of it programming lights and adding the warning lights etc etc, luckily I was in the car at the time so not an issue and although the car would not start the windows still dropped, just got me thinking what if !Chungster wrote:yeah think i accidentally pulled it out once when it didnt drop....just flexed a little but didn't smash/break.

Re: What happens if
I also (by mistake) tried to open the door with the window frozen. It is possible without damages! But, being careful always is recommended!
