2 Ton will be fine.

Car is around 1350kgs from memory...but obviously you're only lifting one side/corner of the car with 1 jack so you're not lifting all 1.3T in one go...so even 1.5 ton jobbie will suffice.

EDIT.

Unladen weights - 1373kgs for Manual 2.0 TSI to 1439kgs for DSG R!!!

Lardy fecker. Need more booooooooost.

how u intending to lift the whole front end with single jack??? where u putting the jack another words?

if u can get to a spot central enough..then yes 2 ton jack will be fine as front half will still be less than the whole car.

why dont you just get it on axle stands...jack one side up, put stand under, jack other side up, put stand under.

Or use OEM jack one side, seperate jack the other side?

Yes, I did it at New Year on two axle stands rated at SWL 1524Kg each (1.5ton).

Your problem will be the Jack Stand points and where you jack up on the sill dimple marks.
Axle Stand position.jpg
The floor pan bends so don't use this area. There is a hard point behind the small plastic cover where the front jack pad is fitted. Remove the cover. Put something on your jack head to distribute the load and couple up here with the jack (assuming its a hydraulic type).

The way I did it was using my fitted Jack Pads and then resting the Scirocco on the garage lift points on the forward sill areas above where the green line is.

@chungster... gloves cheaper for a box like that on the local market if there is a diy stall.

You've never lived then!

How much! £4.99, not a penny more.

Missed my point, use the points where the front pack pads would be fitted into the floor pan to lift the car. Removing the cover first. There a photo showing what is behind the cover. As long as you put something on the jack head like a small block of wood, you can pick up there safely to lift. Not suggesting fitting Jack Pads to do this job.

Then drop the car onto the axle stands on the lift points on the sills where I put the green line in the photo.

That way you'll be able to get the jack stands and the lifting jack under the car without struggling with positions
