Heard a disturbing rumour that BBS has filed for bankruptcy, this is obv not good news for me as i was going to purchase a set of their rims when my car arrived.
iv therefore thought about bringing forward my plans and getting my wheels in advance but need some help.
iv ordered the roc with the 18s but i want a set of BBS CHs in 19". can someone tell me the size i would need to order? i have no idea how the size of a wheel works or what it might be i guess it will be the same as the 19" Scirocco R wheel, but i don't know what that is. Or am i missing something?

The 8.0x19 option is ET50 which is bit too tucked in so needs a 10mm spacer and longer bolts!
The R wheels are 8.0x18 or 8.0x19 both ET41
Great thanks. Can you explain what the different parts of the size mean?
so the 8.0 or 8.5 whats that refer to? why have you suggested 8.5?
also whats the ET number mean?
really should know this! ha
Trix, i might be able to find a set somewhere, see what's around.
8.0 and 8.5 is the WIDTH of the wheel in inches. Requires a 235 width tyre ideall.
ET is the Offset in mm..one of the most important things. The distance from centre line of wheel to the face of the mounting hub (as it wont be in the middle)
The greater the number, the greater the distance, so it sits in to the wheel arch MORE than a wheel with say ET15 (which pushes the wheel out)
ET41 is OEM R wheels so need to be as close to that as possible (5mm each way is ok) to prevent wheels hitting things inside the arches when turning.
So if you go 8.5 inch wide wheels, you need to have a lower ET so that they dont sit outside the arch!!!

get it??
yep that makes sense, thanks.
last question. is it better to get a wider wheel so the 8.5 but have a lower ET or get the 8 inch diameter and a larger ET. How come you suggested the 8.5 option? just curious
