Smashed Wing Mirror - Help Appreciated

So i was driving home from work (which involves some B roads) and some A*** H*** with no spacial awareness decides to drive up my side of the road, swerve and smash my wing mirror!

Ive had a decent look at it and there are no cracks in the cover, the heater still works, the mirror isnt smashed, still works and can be adjusted electronically and the whole unit still folds in and out.

The only issue is that the whole light cluster (perspex front) has smashed and the indicator no longer works.

I'm just wondering whether anyone in 'the know' knows whether the indicator unit can be easily replaced or will i need the whole wing mirror unit replaced?

Im going to take it into VW in the morning but dont want them telling me the whole unit needs replacing when the indicator unit can be independantly replaced.

I know i can confirm one thing, the wing mirror unit is hard as nails!! The Rest of the car is fine luckily!!

I am assuming you have the Puddle lights? Seeing as you have folding mirrors?

If so, the P/no in the thread above is wrong, only slightly but wrong.

The P/no you want, assuming it is the drivers side (right) is 3C8 949 102 A

Left side is 3C8 949 101 A

listed as Turn Signal indicator for Veh. with surrounds light. Etka 7.2 update 839/408.

Sorry i wasnt clear - i meant they fold in manually - i dont have puddle lights.

The thread above only seemed to cover the repeater lens? is that correct?

In my case the whole repeater has imploded - LED lights and circuit board has smashed, the lot!

the repeater housing (minus the perspex lens) is still in tact.

Is it possible just to replace the lens and if so do you know the part no for this?

I thought all cars with folding mirrors came with puddle lights?

3C8 949 101 / 102 Left and right respectively (non puddle lights.
3C8 949 101 A / 102 A Left and Right respectively (with Puddle lights)

From Etka you can only change the whole unit (apart from the obvious bulb change). It is about £22-23 with the VAT

Thank you for finding those for me!

I wondered down to VW St Albans and they have offered to replace the part for £70.62 including Parts, Labour and VAT.

All in all i'm quite happy about this i expected to be forking out closer to 300/400 for an entirely new unit!
